Building up Your Interpretation Skills
1. Take a newspaper article 75-100 words in length and peruse it for about 1 minute; during that time mark word order differences between English and the LOTE. Then translate the article aloud. You should speak evenly without pauses or stutter. Do 2 passages each night until you can speak without hesitation. It is a good idea to use a tape or MP3 recorder to record and check your performance. This may need constant practice over a period of weeks.
